Associates Degree

Through a partnership with Pennsylvania Highlands Community College, we are proud to offer Greater Johnstown High School students with a unique opportunity to reach higher levels of challenge and achievement.  Our Associate’s Degree in High School Program provides a pathway for students interested in earning a college degree while still in high school.  This intensive, and accelerated academic program of study is open to any interested students, but is only recommended for students with a sound work ethic and a proven academic track record.

Interested students must enroll in the program as they enter their Freshman year, and will follow a prescribed schedule which includes college classes instructed at both GJHS and at the Richland campus of PHCC.  This journey will be full of opportunities, and could provide your child with an incredible head start in terms of time and money spent on their education.

That said, this journey will not be without its challenges.  Enrolled students will be placed into challenging courses, given more freedom and responsibility than other students, and introduced to a whole new vocabulary and culture, and all at a relatively young age. Successful completion of the program will require a combined effort, thorough understanding, and effective communication between the student, parents, school, and college.
