ALKWAN WILLIAMS REACHES MILESTONE
Alkwan Williams joined and elite group of football players Friday night, in the Trojans victory over Forest Hills, as he reached a milestone that very few people in the state of Pennsylvania ever reach. In the 3rd quarter of Friday nights (11/04/11) game, in Sidman, against the Forest Hills Rangers, Williams stuffed a Ranger running play up the middle for a 3 yard gain. What’s the big deal about the play you ask? The big deal is not only did Williams help the Trojans defeat perennial LHAC power Forest Hills, or help the Trojans move to 9-1 for the 2nd consecutive season, or help the Trojans win the unofficial LHAC title for the 2nd year, but he recorded his 500th career tackle as a Trojan.
Williams will forever go down as one of the Greatest Trojans ever to wear the Blue and Black. “There has been so tremendous players that have played in the amazing history of Johnstown High and Alkwan ranks right up near the top. If you look back through the history of Johnstown High and look at all the players that played here; Jeff Richardson, George Azar, Carlton Haselrig, Geroy Simon, Chuck Wyatt, Mario Hardison, Bob Wyatt, Brian Mangifico, LaRod Stephens-Howling, Antwuan Reed, the list goes on and on. I feel bad because I know I left some guys off that list but that’s off the top of my head and I know there is more. Now Alkwan needs to be included on that list” Coach Penna Jr. said.
