SMITH TO PLAY IN ALL-STAR GAME
“Congratulations Tynesha Smith on being selected to participate in the 24th Annual Johnstown vs. Somerset area All-Star Match. Please come out and show Ty your support by attending the game on Wednesday, November 24th, 7pm at Richland High School. “
Trojans Volleyball Drops 2 to City Rivals
Johnstown’s JV team defeated Westmont with the scores of 25-14 and 27-25
Varsity was defeated after 4 games.
- Game 1: 27-25 (JHS)
- Game 2: 17-25 (WHS)
- Game 3: 16-25 (WHS)
- Game 4: 17-25 (WHS)
The varsity had an excellent serving night, missing only 2 serves all night. Tara Bicko led the team in assists and good passes, while Brandy Young led the team in spikes. Vicki Smothers had 6 blocks including 3 kills.
On Monday, September 20th, the JHS JV Volleyball team defeated Bishop Mc Cort 25-16, 25-16. Varsity was defeated after 4 games: 1: 20-25 (BMHS), 2: 25-23 (JHS), 3: 20-25 (BMHS) and 4: 27-29 (BMHS). Ty Smith led the team in the categories of spikes and serves, while Tara Bicko led the team in assists and good passes.
TROJAN VOLLEYBALL GETS SWEPT ON THE ROAD
The Trojan volleyball team found that traveling south on route 219 can be a tough way to fine sunnier pastures as the girls got swept in three sets by LHAC Section 2 rival Somerset. Ty Smith led the Trojans with 7 spikes inc. 5 kills. Freshman Tara Bicko had an excellent passing night, had 3 assists and 7 point serves that included 4 aces.
The Trojans are still looking for their first team win of the year.
Trojan Volleyball gets upended by Shade in 3 sets
Tynesha Smith tried her best to help the Trojan volleyball team record their first win as she led the Trojans with 7 blocks, 3 of which were kills. Tara Bicko led the team in assists with 7 as the Trojans record dropped to 0-2 on the young season. The scores are as follows:
