Honors/Gifted and Advanced Placement
Students who meet the established criteria will be eligible for enrollment into Honors/Gifted and/or Advanced Placement courses. The criterion for participation in these courses is such:
Honors/Gifted – Grade 9
To be eligible for enrollment in Honors/Gifted designated coursework a student must demonstrate an average of proficient or greater across their 8th grade local assessments, as well as, having achieved a letter grade of either an A or B in the preceding course.
Advanced Placement – Grade 9
To be eligible for enrollment in Advanced Placement designated coursework a student must demonstrate an average of Advanced across their 8th grade local assessments, as well as, having achieved a letter grade of an A in the preceding course.
Honors/Gifted – Grade 10-12
To be eligible for enrollment in Honors/Gifted designated coursework a student must have achieved a letter grade of either an A or B in the preceding course.
Advanced Placement – Grade 10-12
To be eligible for enrollment in Advanced Placement designated coursework a student must have achieved a letter grade of an A in the preceding course. Students who have received a B in preceding Advanced Placement coursework work will be afforded the opportunity to enroll in subsequent Advanced Placement courses.
