AP Test
- Johnstown High School offers several Advanced Placement courses and their associated tests in conjunction with the College Board organization.
- Course offerings are rigorous challenges for the college bound student who wants the opportunity to participate in a college type curriculum.
- Students have a chance to earn college credit while preparing for the next step in their educational journey.
- Test dates are announced to the students via the Daily Bulletin.

PSAT Test
- The Preliminary SAT (PSAT) National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is offered every October of the school year for 11th grade students at the high school.
- A recent trend is for 10th grade students to participate, especially the future college athlete for practice and to network with colleges.
- Sign up information is announced on the Daily Bulletin.

ASVAB Test
- The Armed Services Vocational Battery is a voluntary test offered to interested students to explore career suitability and to help them predict academic success.
- Three career exploration scores are generated and career interests are identified.
- Offered in the Spring of the school year, students must preregister though the guidance office.
- Check our school website or the Daily Bulletin for the exact test date.

SAT Test
- The High School Code for registering for the SAT test is (CEEB Code): 391956.
- Registration assistance is available at the Trojan College ACCESS Center in room A220. Free test preparation is also available at the center.
- Registration materials and fee waivers, (for qualified economic hardship) are also available in the Guidance Office.
- All college bound students are encouraged to take this test as part of the college application process by the end of their 11th grade year.
- Students may retake the test at their choosing but we recommend seniors complete by the December test date.
- Colleges and Universities often require the SAT for admission.
- Use www.collegecoard.com for an excellent resource to research this test as well as a great college exploration tool.

ACT Test
- The ACT organization states that the ACT test assesses the high school students’ general educational development and their ability to complete college level work.
- The specific areas covered on the test are English, Reading, Mathematics, Writing, and Science. The ACT organization says that the test is America’s most widely accepted college entrance exam.
- The ACT test is a universally accepted entrance test.
- Fee waivers for demonstrated financial need are available from the student’s guidance counselor.
- The Trojan College ACCESS Center in room A220 will assist students in completing their test registration.

NOCTI Test
- This test, offered by the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute, is actually a job readiness assessment.
- It is a free required test that the district and the Pennsylvania Department of Education requires of all 12th grade vocational students who have completed 50 percent or more of their technical instruction hours by the end of their senior year.
- Students scoring Competent or Advanced in both their written and performance tests are recognized by the state and the district by earning and being presented with a Pennsylvania Skills Certificate.
- The certificate demonstrates to employers and post secondary schools alike, the level of ability this student has for entering the work force or for furthering their education.
