Gannon University Applicants Any students who are applying to Gannon University are welcome to bring their application in to Mr. Lucas to sign off on. Mr. Lucas is an alumnus of Gannon and his signature will waive your application fee.

Young Lawyers Program

Young Lawyers Division is sponsoring a program for high school students who aspire to a career as a lawyer. The program is called "Stepping Out". Interested 11th and 12th grade students with good grades and attendance should sign up in the guidance office with Mr. Chick or Ms. Jaber. The program is free and more details will follow.

GJSD Named “Best School District”

The Greater Johnstown School District was selected as the Best School District in their 2009 Best Of edition. The district was selected by the magazine's subscribers. This is great accomplishment for the District, staff, teachers, administrators, students, and community residents of the Greater Johnstown Area.

2009 Scholarship Essay Contest

Since the early 1990s, the Central Labor Council has administered an annual essay contest encouraging students to conduct research about the many contributions Organized Labor has made to the American society. Thousands of dollars have helped local students pay for their schooling.

This year, a total of $5,200 will be awarded.
