Robert Curcio, the PC Maintenance teacher at Greater Johnstown High School, recently won the "Teacher of the Year" award granted by Wal-Mart. An anonymous student nominated Mr. Curcio for his hard work and dedication in the classroom. The reward for winning the award was a hundred-dollar personal gift card, as well as a thousand dollar card for classroom use. Mr. Curcio has already planned to use this money for a new server, or a large computer dedicated to providing services over a computer network.

Arcurio Receives Murtha Education Award

Congratulations to George Arcurio Jr. who received the John P. Murtha Education Award! The award was presented to Mr. Arcurio by Superintendent of Schools, Barbara Parkins, at the newly opened Fichtner filed at the Greater Johnstown Middle School.

Mr. Arcurio is a kind and considerate human being who has always placed the best interest of the students and families of the Greater Johnstown area first. This field is another example of that dedication and commitment. Starting in the spring, the Johnstown varsity baseball squad will play at the Field at JMS. This project was collaborative effort between the school district and Mr. Arcurio Jr. with the intent to provide students and athletes in the area a wonderful facility for baseball.

Congratulations Mr. Arcurio!
