Through a shared vision, the Greater Johnstown School District, supported by pride and tradition, is committed to creating and sustaining a community of learners who will pursue high standards to succeed in a diverse, global society. "Support, Grow, and Succeed."

Shared Values
 
We, the Board, Administrators, teachers, parents, and students of the Greater Johnstown School District believe the following:
  • All students can achieve a personal level of success.
  • All students can maintain a desire to learn.
  • All students are expected to learn and retain academic and social skills that will allow them to be a productive member of society.
  • A feeling of self-worth is necessary for learning to take place.
  • Developing self-evaluation skills is necessary in fostering acceptance of personal responsibility for one's learning.
  • Instruction should be provided at a developmentally appropriate level.
  • Parental involvement is essential to a student's education.
  • High expectations are essential for student success.

Vision
  • Students will come to school each day prepared to learn and will leave at the end of the day a better educated person who is excited to come to school the next day.
  • Administration will continue to provide supervision and support to staff, enabling them to grow and improve in daily instructional methods, while providing the student body a safe learning environment and an opportunity to jump-start career path.
  • Staff will provide a positive learning environment and utilize data and research-based instructional methods in developing their lessons to allow each student to experience some form of success each day.
  • The community will embrace school concepts by becoming an active member and forming a partnership that enables the student an easy transition into community life and service.
  • Meeting and exceeding state-based assessments will become the norm and staff and students will anxiously anticipate the testing procedures to show the community their talents.
