Child Abuse / Mandated Reporting

Protecting Pennsylvania’s children from abuse and neglect is a shared responsibility. It requires collaboration from the formal child protective services system, community partners and our citizens to provide local safety nets for children and families that are facing challenges within our communities and neighborhoods.  Staff is required to report suspected child abuse immediately.  See below for reporting options.

GJSD Staff have two options on how to report suspected child abuse:
  1. Contact Child Line at -1-800-932-0313.  Once you contact Child Line, staff will need to complete the following steps:
    • Contact your immediate supervisor / administrator to make them aware of the report.
    • Let the building School Resource Officer be aware of the report.
    • Complete and fax the CY-47 Form and submit to Cambria County Children and Youth within 48 hours. Fax Number:  (814) 535-8210
  2. Complete the reporting online via the PA Child Welfare Portal.  Once you file the electronic report:
    • Contact your immediate supervisor / administrator to make them aware of the report.
    • Let the building School Resource Officer be aware of the report.
