Elementary School After School Program

Trojan Learning Center (TLC) is the after-school program at JES  (Johnstown Elementary - K-5) and JMS (Johnstown Middle School - 5th grade). A collaborative effort between Greater Johnstown School District, The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center, and Cambria County Child Development Corporation. TLC provides a safe environment for students from school dismissal until 6 PM at JES and 5:20 PM at JMS. TLC runs Monday through Friday (JMS is Mon-Thurs) and does not operate on early dismissal days. TLC is offered at no cost to parents or guardians and includes a nutritionally balanced dinner, homework help, tutoring in reading and math, stem activities, and recreation. Bus transportation is available and/or students may be picked up by a parent or guardian directly from the school. Eligible students enrolled in kindergarten through fifth grade will need to meet eligibility requirements which are based on several things including but not limited to severe academic risk, social and emotional learning, economically disadvantaged families, and students from single-parent households.

Please return a completed application along with a signed discipline policy, emergency contact information as well as a list of medications and/or allergies, to any of the district buildings. Please address TLC Office @ JES, Attn: Joe or Becky. All forms must be completed and signed by the parent/guardian for the application to be processed.

If you would like an application mailed to you,  have any questions or concerns, or you feel your child may be eligible, please feel free to contact TLC Staff at the phone number or email address listed below.
